[He shrugs, heading inside regardless of whether or not she's actually invited him in.]

Hey, I offered up my place. You told me to come here, and you're the one that advertised magic lessons. If you've got better stuff to do, I can go.

Dude, I never said that. You're being all pushy and weird.

How am I being pushy? I brought you food. [He waggles the banana.]

[Kyna tries to pluck the banana from his hands.]

Bananas suck. Bring me chocolate or something next time.

[He lets her take it. He picked a food he wouldn't miss much, anyway.]

Now who's pushy?

[She sticks her tongue out at him.]

I'm allowed to be pushy. I'm the awesome wizard, remember?

That's a pretty big leap in logic. So far, you're all talk.

Whatever. Look, do you want to learn or not?

[completelycrazy]

[He splays out his hands.] That's why I'm here. Teach me something good and maybe I'll bring better snacks next time.

Yeah, yeah. Okay, fine. What do you want to learn, anyway? Defensive stuff or offensive?

[completelycrazy]

Hm. Offensive, I guess? Whatever that lightning stuff you can do falls under. I don't plan on, like, going into battle or anything. I just want stuff that'll help me out around the lab.

[A beat.]

Or that can like stun monsters or something. Trap them. Y'know.

[evocation]

Uh... We're gonna have to start with the basic stuff, you know? Anything crazy requires a focus.

[Which, according to her tone, is a whole Thing.]

I can start you off with some easy zapping cantrips.

[completelycrazy]

[He shrugs mightily.]

Is that not basic? I don't have a reference point for this stuff, man. I'm flying blind here. Teach me whatever vaguely leans toward those categories.

[Like zapping cantrips. Those sound good.]

Okay. So, uh, cantrips are the easiest spells you can learn. They're what you start with. Shocking Grasp is an evocation cantrip, but you'll only be able to shock someone if you touch them directly. The more powerful stuff requires a focus, and if you get that far I'll have to walk you through this whole ritual to make one.
