[Oh, Rome.]

are you okay? do you want me to come over?

[leashed]

I'm not injured.

I should clean. He's been everywhere in my house.

[evocation]

[Kyna sighs.]

that's not what i mean. i'm coming over.

[leashed]

I'd like to see you.

Thank you.

[evocation]

[So Kyna doesn't waste any time, just heads out and shows up at his apartment, a box of Thin Mints in hand. She knocks, and shoots him a little smile when he opens the door. There's a dog sitting at her feet--huge, fluffy, and wagging his tail excitedly.]

Hey.

[leashed]

Kyna.

[He opens the door without a smile, but nods in acknowledgement all the same, before his gaze shifts downward, toward the dog at her side. He hasn't met it before- he knows that his scent differs from most humans, but maybe if it's used to Tucker, it won't be as much of an issue.]

You brought- your companion.

[evocation]

[The dog certainly doesn't seem concerned—he immediately tries to shove his nose into Rome's hand, tail wagging furiously.]

This is Lando. He's my brother's.

[And he's very good at cheering Kyna up, so she figures he'll work his charm on Rome, too.]

It's okay that I brought him, right?

[leashed]

Of course.

[He crouches down so that they can be more acquainted, patting his hand over the dog's large head before leaning forward for a little sniff of his own. The two of them touch noses, doglike, and Rome doesn't exactly have a tail to wag but a smile flickers across his expression all the same.]

I like him.

[evocation]

[Kyna grins. God, that's adorable. Lando gives him a doggy smile back, then promptly tries to lick his face, and she laughs.]

He likes you, too.

[leashed]

[Rome lets him, tilting his chin up with a little wrinkled nose, before pulling back so he can more properly address Kyna.]

If you brought him to try and track Morgan's scent though, I've already done so.

[evocation]

Oh, no. He can't track. He can steal bread off of the counter when no one's looking, though.

[Which is an admirable trait, or maybe not.]

I just thought you'd like him.

[leashed]

I see.

[He pets at the dog's head again, before nodding.]

I do. Would you like to come inside?

[Rome steps back to allow them both in. The house is pristine as ever, with an extra layer of shine to it- he's been cleaning since Morgan's disappearance. It's good to get the scent out, he thinks. Better for everyone involved.]

[evocation]

[Kyna and Lando follow, though Lando immediately starts sniffing everything in the apartment he can reach. Kyna, meanwhile, loops her arm through Rome's and holds up the cookie box with her free hand.]

I brought cookies, too.

[leashed]

[Rome tilts his head at the cookies and the closeness both, looking over toward Kyna for a moment before nodding.]

The Door brought those in, didn't it?

[evocation]

Yep.

[And if he lets her, she's going to try to tug him towards the couch.]

Have you ever had them?

[leashed]

Not this kind, no.

[He moves without much complaint, even if the goal here was to clean.]

I'm not sure if they existed in my world.

[These particular snacks, he means. He's had regular cookies, obviously.]

[evocation]

You're gonna die.

[She flops down, waiting for him to follow.]

Try one.

[leashed]

I'm going to die?

[He's- uh, not sure if he wants to try one now, but he sits gingerly, reaching a hand out to the dog to idly pat at its head.]

...why?

[evocation]

Oh, uh... Not literally. It's a saying, you know? Like, "it's so good you'll die".

[leashed]

I see.

[He reaches for one, in that case.... trusting her, even though she just threatened to kill him with a cookie.]

May I?

[evocation]

[She grins and nods. She's going to just sit back and watch his reaction.]

[leashed]

[It's just food, right?

He takes a bite of it, hesitant but a little curious all the same and it's... well, it's pretty good. Rome nods appreciatively, taking another bite before responding to her.]

This is better than the food we have available here, by far.
