[His previously annoyed look that he punctuated with an eyeroll softens as she says that. He sighs...that sigh he does when he's giving in and has to admit she's right.]
We are.
[He's not sure how it happened or why it happened or even when it happened, all he knows is they've indeed been looking out for one another.]
Fine. If that is what you want, I won't stop you. [Even if she should be focusing on getting out of this place herself, instead of on him. Though, now that that thought crosses his mind...]
...And, there is space enough for you should you ever need it. [At his place, he means.]
[Is that a challenge? It sounds like one, so Kyna shifts her weight and turns, plopping her legs over his. With how close they are on the crate, it means she's half sitting in his lap.]
[It's clear by the way he looks down at her legs draping over his that he has vastly underestimated her boldness. But he has also spent a lot of time with Isabela whose shamelessness truly knows no bounds, so he's over it quickly enough.]
You know, [With his gloved hand, he reaches up and lightly brushes his fingers over her shoulder.] If not for this place making touch so difficult...I would have undoubtedly tried to make a move on you by now.
[Is he just trying to one up her? Is he serious? The stupid smirk on his face really doesn't say.]
[She looks incredibly pleased that she's one-upped him, but then his next comment throws her off all over again, and she can't tell if he's serious. It's not enough to fluster her, but it does pull her up short, as much as she tries to cover.]
That would be my lucky day, huh? I would have, too.
[Honestly, if he'd come onto her that night at the bar, she might have even agreed, empathy bond or no. Now she actually cares about him, and that's a whole other beast.
Instead of saying any of that, she just winks at him.]
He glances down at his hand in hers, flexing his fingers instinctively. Somehow wearing gloves feels stranger, but he lived in his armor for so long, so it's not surprising he feels that way.]
They took my armor...it felt natural to keep my hands covered. The empathy bond is most certainly extra motivation.
[He never really had to explain his armor to anyone before. They just saw it, made a smart remark, and that was the end of it.]
It was specifically tailored for me. [Which, in hindsight, is probably good that he doesn't have it anymore? Even if it feels strange to be without.]
Made to show off my marks, naturally. It was thin enough that when my markings glowed they would be visible, covered or not. But it was also supposed to be intimidating. I suppose that's why it's so dark and...spiky, as some have said. And of course, there had to be feathers. The Magisters love their feathers. [If an eyeroll could be expressed through tone alone this would be it.] That is not to say it wasn't practical. I could move freely and quickly with such thin material, and since most attacks came from the front I had a chest-plate to protect me.
[He flexes his fingers again.]
The gauntlets gave me the most use, however. Should I drop my sword or be unable to draw it in time, the claws made an excellent weapon.

What would you have me say, Kyna? Do you really want to be there that badly?
no subject
Doesn't that make more sense? I mean... We're kind of looking out for each other, right?
no subject
We are.

Oh. Um, are you sure? I don't want to get in your way.
no subject
[He could have probably been more reassuring but, it's true, isn't it? He isn't known to coddle.]
Besides, the company would be nice.
no subject
Well, if you'd die without my awesome personality...
no subject
Well, naturally, I would do nothing but waste away in my tiny room without your presence to fill it.
no subject
Ooh, we're sharing a room? That's pretty forward, Fenris.
no subject
You know what I meant.
no subject
Do I?
no subject
If you want so be that close to me you needn't play dumb.
no subject
I'm already pretty close. Do you want me closer?
no subject
And what if my answer was 'yes'?
no subject
Close enough?

You know, [With his gloved hand, he reaches up and lightly brushes his fingers over her shoulder.] If not for this place making touch so difficult...I would have undoubtedly tried to make a move on you by now.

no subject
I guess I will have to keep dreaming. Tragic.
no subject
Instead of saying any of that, she just winks at him.]
Pretty nice dreams though, huh?
no subject
They almost make this whole ordeal worth it.

[She reaches for his gloved hand, turning it over in hers.]
This was a good idea, by the way. The gloves.

[Kyna, meanwhile, is in what she almost always wore at home—shorts and a t-shirt.]
What did it look like?
no subject
Does the idea of armor fascinate you so?
[Is that not normal where you're from.]
