[If an eyeroll could be expressed through tone alone this would be it.] That is not to say it wasn't practical. I could move freely and quickly with such thin material, and since most attacks came from the front I had a chest-plate to protect me.

The gauntlets gave me the most use, however. Should I drop my sword or be unable to draw it in time, the claws made an excellent weapon.
Not himself, no. He had a very specific tailor in mind to make it. I believe it took months before it was done to his liking. It wasn't the practicality he was trying to master, but the intimidation.

Most humans are already strange around elves. But elves in black armor with metal claws and a great sword...[he trails off, because that goes without saying.] Danarius took a great bit of enjoyment in the fear I brought to his guests. Even his closest allies.
It is said the elves from that long ago all wielded powerful magic as naturally as they drew breath. That, and they were immortal. But I am far from a good representation of elves today, much less so long ago. You would be better off asking a Dalish elf.
Not that you should, even if you could. It is hardly worth putting up with the smug sense of superiority.
